The final comment period regarding the ongoing Medical Lake comprehensive plan update was incorrectly reported in the June 27 edition of the Cheney Free Press.
Comments will continue to be accepted by the City of Medical Lake into the foreseeable future as stakeholders review the draft plan.
Although the final hearing date will be determined by the Medical Lake City Council, according to planning consultant Bill Grimes of SCJ Consulting, the council will be reviewing the plan, “no less than 45 days” from June 28, according to Grimes, and not before Aug. 7.
Comments can be submitted to the Planning Commission until that time.
The Friday, June 28 deadline originally reported related to a determination of non-significance, a part of the State Environmental Policy Act requirement, or SEPA, a legal formality in the comprehensive plan update.
