ivian Randles performed a gymnastics routine that included handsprings, cartwheels and backbends for her peers at Cindy Tilque's second-grade class talent show.
On Thursday, June 13, Betz Elementary students gathered for an artistic extravaganza in the form of talent show performances from teacher Cindy Tilque's second-grade class.
Students exhibited a variety of skills including poetry recitation, stand-up comedy, singing, reading, and several different dance styles.
Student Eli Withrow recited a charming poem he wrote entitled, "Just a Slug," while Ella Lynch sang while playing guitar.
Music from popular musical "The Greatest Showman" was a popular choice, inspiring two ribbon dancing presentations and a standout performance from Phoebe Short, who performed the song, "A Million Dreams" in American Sign Language.
Short said she learned the sign language from YouTube, and was later approached by an excited parent in the audience who told her their family signs at home all the time.
Short's mother said she initially wasn't convinced her daughter would go through with the performance as she is typically very shy, but enjoyed learning signs and teaching them to her friends.
Tilque said she tries to put on a show for her students every year to give them the opportunity to show off their skills.
