Mental health issues were reported on the 400 block of Leinum Court. The subject was involuntarily committed.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of Annie Place. A lawnmower was taken.
Harassment was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.
Second-degree theft was reported on the 2300 block of 1st Street. Stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle.
Police confiscated a vaping device on the 400 block of Annie Place.
A set of keys was found on the 700 block of Mullinix Road.
Cheney police assisted U.S. Marshals with the arrest of an individual on the 2600 block of 1st Street. David E. Weimer, 55, was arrested on warrants for first-degree arson and first-degree attempted murder in relation to an incident that took place on May 6 on the 16200 block of South Sherman Road.
An incorrigible juvenile was reported on the 1500 block of Ridgeview Drive.
May 8
A traffic complaint was reported on the 1000 block of Salnave Road.
Third-degree theft/shoplifting was reported on the zero hundred block of Cheney-Spokane Road.
A 24-year-old male was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the 3100 block of Silverthorn Lane.
May 9
A 30-year-old male was arrested for third-degree DWLS and failure to transfer title within 45 days on the 1000 block of Betz Road.
May 10
An abandoned auto was reported on the 100 block of 4th Street. A 2001 Pontiac Bonneville was impounded.
An abandoned auto was reported on the 800 block of Oak Street. A 2001 Ford Taurus was impounded.
A 39-year-old female was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on the 1500 block of 1st Street.
A 20-year-old male was arrested for violation of a court order on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway.
May 11
Second-degree theft was reported on the 300 block of 1st Street. A cellphone was taken.
A civil dispute was reported on the 2300 block of University Lane.
A vicious animal (dog bite) was reported on the 2400 block of 1st Street.
A civil dispute was reported on the 1800 block of 4th Street.
May 12
Police assisted the Washington State Patrol with a DUI arrest of a 28-year-old male on the 1700 block of 2nd Street.
Rape was reported on the 200 block of Simpson Parkway.
Taking motor vehicle without owner’s permission was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road. A 2007 Toyota Yaris was taken and later recovered that day on the 2700 block of 1st Street.
A death investigation/natural causes took place on the 1500 block of 3rd Street.
