Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Travis Pendell will be presenting free Washington State Boater Education classes at Medical Lake High School auditorium on the evenings of April 17 and 18 from 6 – 9 p.m. each night. Attendees must be at both classes to pass.
According to an April 8 news release, no registration is required for this class. Please bring a pen/pencil with you.
The class is free, but you will need to send $10 to Washington State Parks after completing the course to receive your card.
Effective Jan. 1, 2014, every person born after Jan. 1, 1955, is required to have the Boater Education Card to operate any vessel with 15 or more horsepower. This applies to Washington state residents operating vessels on Washington waterways.
