Eloyse Grace Casselman Longcore

Eloyse Grace Casselman Longcore passed away on March 1, 2019. She is preceded in death by her husband William and a son Donald. She leaves a daughter, Dona, of Cheney, Wash. along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Cheney High School in 1938 and from University of Southern California in 1944. She worked as a CPA for 23 years and retired in 1973.

Her travel adventures began after retirement and took her to Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Port Morien, Aborigines; the Pacific Islands, Atlantic Islands, China, Japan and Alaska three times — the last to the Bering Sea across from Russia. She also traveled west to east across Canada, including attending the Calgary Stampede; Lake Louise to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and up to the Arctic Circle. She also traveled in Europe, in Mexico to Mexico City and back through the Panama Canal.

In between her travels she volunteered for the Red Cross in Idaho and Texas, an abused women’s crisis center, the Humane Society and managed a resale shop in Idaho. She returned to Cheney where she lived with her daughter, Dona, until she died peacefully at home.
