Cheney Congregational Church

Everyone is invited to join our Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m. On Sunday, Feb. 17, pastor David Krueger-Duncan’s sermon will be “The Triumph of Adam & Eve Sisyphus: Are We Destroying Our Planet?” Plan to join us in the fellowship hall following the service to celebrate our church’s 138th birthday. Cheney Congregational Church was formed Feb. 20, 1881.

The “Lunch Bunch” will meet in the fellowship hall at noon on Feb. 14. Everyone is welcome to join the group and share good food and conversation.

The church council will meet Monday, Feb. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the fireside room. All congregants are welcome to attend.

Our next fourth Wednesday educational series, “Things I Learned Somewhere,” will be Feb. 27, at 7:00 p.m. Dr. Dick Donley will give a presentation on Abraham Lincoln in the church sanctuary. Everyone is invited to attend this free series. The presentation will last one hour followed by coffee, cookies and conversation in the fireside room.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Feb. 17. Fellowship hour follows the worship service.

Adult education precedes the worship service at 9 a.m. Please note there is no children’s Sunday school this Sunday.

Mark your calendar for Emmanuel’s 10th annual “Festival of Chocolate” benefit for Lutherhaven’s Day Camp (Vacation Bible School) fundraiser. This event will take place on Tuesday, March 5, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. We invite the whole community to participate in our festival. To help offset the cost of the day camp, a container will be provided for goodwill offerings. We look forward to seeing you there.

Please plan to worship with us on Ash Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Thank you for your continued support of this outreach ministry.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

Attention all college students: The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry, ELM, gathers each Monday at 5 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St. For more information contact Soule at 844-2553.

Choir practice continues under the direction of Alexandra Rannow. We practice every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Come sing with us.

Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at ll:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Come in from the cold and find a warm winter welcome at the United Methodist Church. This Sunday pastor Alissa Bertsch will continue a new sermon series entitled “See All the People.” Preceding worship there is a multi-age Sunday school class for elementary and middle school students at 9 a.m.

Right after the worship service this week, all those interested in finding out more about a “Messy Church” ministry are invited to stay for information. This ministry would be a once-a-month experience specifically for our kids. Come and find out what it’s all about.
