On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, on a long winter evening we gather at 7 p.m. to proclaim the coming of the light. Isaiah announces that the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Paul reminds us that the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all. In the familiar account of Christ’s birth, the evening sky is bright with the heavenly host singing, “Glory to God in the Highest.” Amid our broken world we proclaim that the prince of peace is born among us. God comes to us in human flesh, in Christ’s body and blood, so that we may be bearers of divine light to all the world. Come, worship and rejoice with us! Visitors are expected and welcomed.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items for all ages are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7. Thank you for your continued support in this ministry. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.

Heritage Baptist Church

Heritage Baptist Church would love to invite you to join us for worship on Sunday, Dec. 23. Services are at 11:11 a.m. and 6:06 p.m. This is the fourth Sunday of Advent, the fourth Sunday of the anticipation of the coming Messiah. We remember that the celebration this week is to demonstrate that the Messiah came because He loved us. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Everlasting life is the desire of people across the world. People who hear and believe have looked forward to the coming of the Messiah. The Bible tells us that people from all over the known world came to celebrate the birth of the Christ child, Jesus. We meet together to lift up the one who comes to save sinners from perishing. Will you join us, become a child of God and receive everlasting that life?

Praise God for His wonderful blessings.

United Methodist Church

Celebrate Christmas Eve with services at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 24. Both will be traditional candlelight services and will be family-friendly. The 7 p.m. service will include Holy Communion and will feature the chancel choir.
