CHENEY

Nov. 26

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 700 block of West First Street. Coin boxes in an apartment complex’s laundry room were damaged.

Nov. 27

Anthony J. King, 23, was arrested on the 1000 block of Betz Road for second-degree rape. Investigation is continuing.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2300 block of University Lane. Tools and several cellphones were taken from a vehicle.

A collision between a vehicle and another parked vehicle was reported on the 900 block of Second Street. Police subsequently arrested Kellen L. Fulkerson, 29, for driving under the influence (DUI).

Nov. 28

A property damage accident was reported on the 400 block of Washington Street. An unoccupied vehicle with doors locked was found attached to another parked vehicle on the street.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1100 block of College Hill. A father getting his kids ready for school returned to their vehicle to find the kids backpacks had been taken. Backpacks were subsequently located, with only the children’s lunches missing.

Police responded to a possible malicious mischief call on the 700 block of Irene Place. Officers found that a hit and run collision had occurred that did damage to a residence’s garage door.

Suspicious circumstances were reported on the 2700 block of First Street. A woman shopping at Safeway reported her purse had been taken from her shopping cart. Purse was subsequently located on a table at the store’s pharmacy with all contents still inside.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Betz Road. A vehicle was broken in to and a $200 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses was taken.

Nov. 29

An abandoned auto was reported on the 100 block of Third Street. Vehicle was originally tagged on Nov. 20. Police had a 2000 Buick Sentry towed.

A 14-year-old female was arrested on the 1700 block of Seventh Street for minor in possession of alcohol.

A 12-year-old male was arrested on the 700 block of Salnave Road for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.

Nov. 30

An 8-inch fishing knife was found on the 700 block of Second Street.

A Chevy Silverado pick-up was reported taken without the owner’s permission on the zero hundred block of Seventh Street. Vehicle was subsequently located about one block away, and the owner admitted he had parked it in a different place the previous evening.

Dec. 1

Second-degree burglary was reported on the 2500 block of Al Ogdon Way. A storage unit at an apartment complex was broken in to, with frozen food from a freezer, tools, a toolbox and snow tires reported missing.

Second-degree burglary was reported on the 1400 block of First Street. Two storage units were entered sometime between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1, with one unit’s lock cut and the other unit’s back wall removed.

Dec. 2

Cheney police assisted Eastern Washington University police with a DUI arrest on the 2800 block of First Street. A highly-intoxicated woman was witnessed talking to individuals at the Maverik gas pumps. The woman subsequently got into her white Kia and drove off and into a field near the business. EWUPD arrested Oceana E. Champine, 28, for DUI.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of Betz Road. A purse was taken from a vehicle.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 100 block of Fifth Street.

Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.

A suspicious vehicle was reported on South Lefevre and East Grace streets.

Multiple prowl checks were conducted on the 1300 block of South Lefevre Street.
