Gary Warren Gueths

Gary Warren Gueths was born in Fond du Lac, Wisc. to Gustav and Sadie Gueths on Aug. 5, 1928 and passed away peacefully at the Cheney Care Center on Nov. 10, 2018.

He is survived by Eva, his wife of 61 years, his children: Ellen Rose, Gail Pollard, Diane Gueths, Gary Gueths, and Cathy Gueths; his sister Beverly Schmidt, and his grandchildren: Gustav Gueths, Annmarie Pollard, and Marianne Pollard.

Gary enlisted briefly in the Army and spent almost 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was in the Korean War and served briefly in World War II and Vietnam.

After his military service, he worked almost 20 years for the Brunswick Corporation.

He traveled extensively, making many lifelong friends, including Don Clark of New Mexico, Ted Downs of Idaho and Landru and Murphy of Montana (both now deceased).

Gary’s favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed making fish fry meals for family and friends.

Gary had a stroke in December 2016. For the next two years, he received 24/7 loving care from his daughter Ellen and her husband Larry in their home in California.

He moved to the Cheney Care Center in late August 2018. Cathy Gueths, his youngest daughter, visited him frequently after work. He entered hospice care in early October 2018. His wife and most of his family spent October with him. His daughter Diane held his hand when he passed peacefully and without pain. He visited with all of his children before passing.
