Re*Imagine Medical Lake 2nd Christmas Winter Festival is Dec. 8
Borrowing a page from Hollywood and the holiday movie “The Grinch,” Medical Lake will turn its downtown into “Whoville” on Saturday, Dec. 8 for the second annual Re*Imagine Christmas Winter Festival.
The event has numerous activities for all ages, for those who just want to wander or get active.
Kids’ activities include Santa’s Workshop which runs from 3 – 7 p.m. with free-for-kids activities and take home treasures that include building wooden sleds with Santa. They may also try crafts and cookie decorating with elves.
Family functions include the start at 4:30 p.m. of the Whoville Parade of Lights ending at Coney Island for the 5 p.m. tree lighting and fireworks show. Immediately following the fireworks it’s all aboard for free neighborhood bus rides and “Tour of Lights.”
The festival also features two live plays at Medical Lake High School, 3 p.m. for “Miracle on 34th Street,” and then at 7 p.m. for “Elf Junior the Musical.” Admission is by donation.
“Of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without horse drawn wagon rides, a living nativity, live reindeer, Who hairdos’ and face painting, carolers, warming fires,” Re*Imagine spokeswoman Terri Cooper wrote in a news release.
There will also be a variety of food available including kettle korn, coffee/hot chocolate, hot snacks and businesses open late.
Medical Lake residents are encouraged to get their outdoor decorations up and address on the “Tour of Lights” map by Wednesday, Dec. 5. for all to enjoy.
