Nov. 5
Residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of Seventh Street. Backpack and marijuana pipes were taken.
Nov. 6
Attempted suicide was reported on the 1100 block of Oakland Street. Subject was voluntarily committed.
Residential burglary was reported on the 500 block of West Sixth Street. Backpack, wallet and marijuana paraphernalia were taken.
A debit card was found on the 200 block of Third Street.
An abandoned auto was reported on the 200 block of Presley Drive. Police towed two vehicles: a 2000 Lexus and a 2003 Cadillac DeVille that had been reportedly parked near the park since mid-October.
A mental health issue was reported at Westwood Middle School. Subject was involuntarily committed.
Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of Scenic Heights. Tools were taken.
Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 100 block of Blackhawk Lane. Damage was done to a vehicle.
Nov. 7
Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 800 block of Second Street.
A 14-year-old male was arrested for second-degree assault on the 400 block of North Sixth Street.
Residential burglary was reported on the 300 block of College Avenue. A backpack, clothes, cash and jewelry were taken.
Kendrick M. Mellinger, 26, was arrested for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence on the 300 block of Holladay Street.
Domestic violence/verbal dispute was reported on the 500 block of Second Street.
Timothy G. Lacey, 29, was arrested on the 100 block of Seventh Street for obstructing a public servant.
Forgery was reported on the zero hundred block of Cheney-Spokane Road.
Nov. 8
Third-degree theft was reported on the 400 block of D Street. Gasoline was taken from a vehicle.
Second-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of Second Street. Prescription medications were taken.
Possible child abuse or neglect was reported on the 1600 block of Third Street. Incident turned out to be a case of custodial interference.
Mental health issue was reported on the 1800 block of Fourth Street. Incident was a possible assault, but with no intent to commit injury.
Police assisted Child Protective Services officials with a possible child abuse/molestation report on the 1500 block of Second Street.
Nov. 9
Residential burglary was reported on the 700 block of Second Street. Vaping equipment was taken.
Police assisted Child Protective Services officials with a possible child abuse or neglect report on the 1600 block of First Street.
Nov. 10
Residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of Pine Street. A .22 caliber rifle and currency were taken.
A property-damage, hit-and-run collision was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road. A car drove through a vinyl fence at Eagle Point Apartments.
An rear-end collision with minor injuries was reported on the 200 block of First Street. One vehicle was impounded.
A wallet was found at Cheney High school.
Indecent liberties were reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road.
Nov. 11
Ray-Juan D. Stelly, 22, and Daniel X. Tran, 20, were arrested on the 1300 block for second-degree assault. Eastern Washington University police were also looking at Tran for possible attempting to elude charges.
Robert J.S. Christenerson, 31, was arrested on the 2300 block of University Lane for violation of a no-contact order and on a Cheney Municipal Court warrant for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence.
Theft of a firearm from a vehicle was reported on the 1400 block of Second Street.
A rape was reported from Spokane as taking place at an unknown location in Cheney.
Police assisted EWU police with a driving under the influence (DUI) stop on the 1200 block of West First Street.
Second-degree theft was reported on the 500 block of K Street. A backpack and its contents were taken.
