'Breaking news and Tuesdays' really makes us frown

Back in the 1970s, brother and sister pop singing duo Karen and Richard Carpenter had a memorable hit song, “Rainy Days and Mondays.” It seemed to play all the time and lamented that those two times “always get me down.”

There’s a paraphrased version here at the Cheney Free Press called, “Breaking news and Tuesdays.” Our retort? They make us frown — and maybe swear, but that doesn’t have the same ring.
