Eagles rip Vandals in opener

Eastern Washington got two goals each from Greg Lind and Branden Stevenson to defeat the University of Idaho 11-2 in a nonleague hockey game that opened the season for both teams last Friday, Sept. 21 at the University Recreation Center.

A standing-room-only crowd packed the URC and watched as goaltender Tyler O’Donnell earned his 10th career win in the ACHA, stopping 20 Vandal shots.

Because of injuries, Idaho was unable to field a team for a scheduled Saturday contest and forfeited.
