Cheney Congregational Church

You are cordially invited to attend Cheney Congregational Church services this Sunday, Sept 23, at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary and any Sunday thereafter. Pastor David Krueger-Duncan is currently guiding us through the gospel of Luke. A coffee hour follows in the fellowship hall. We would like to get to know you. We are located at 423 N. 6th St.

Choir rehearsals began last week for the fall season. They meet at 5 p.m. each Thursday. You are welcome to join the choir. Please come to rehearsal or call Kate at (509) 481-5234 for more information.

Men’s breakfast will meet at 7:30 a.m. at The Cheney Marketplace Bakery and Eatery on First Street. This church supports Feed Cheney, which will be on Monday, Sept 24 this month. This time the event is outside at Sutton Park.

“Family Fest” is coming to Cheney on Saturday, Sept 29, from noon – 3 p.m. It will feature an outstanding blues band “Left Over Soul.” The location is our church parking lot, weather permitting. There will be something there for everyone. It’s free. There will be hot dogs, and children’s activities. Join the fun.

Everyone is welcome to attend any of our events. Whether you have been a resident of the West Plains for a long time or are new to our community, you are most welcome to participate in our activities.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside.

Mark your calendars. Our annual “Holiday Bazaar” will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and will feature baked goods, handmade items, collectibles and gifts. In addition, local author Rita Seedorf will be with us to autograph and sell her latest book, “The Wary Watcher.”

Attention all college students. The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist campus ministry meets each Monday evening at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship. Please join us. For more information contact Soule, (509)844-2553.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

All are welcome to worship with us this Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Coffee hour follows the worship service. Adult Christian education begins at 9 a.m. No Christian education for children this Sunday.

The women of Emmanuel invite you to attend the Diakonia garage sale in the church fellowship hall from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 22. Funds raised will benefit Lutheran Community Services Northwest.

All college students are invited to attend the ecumenical ELM (Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist) Campus Ministry on Monday nights beginning Sept. 24 at 5 p.m. for a home cooked meal and Christian community. For more information, contact pastor Arianna at (509) 954-5886 or [email protected].

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food, and personal care items are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7.

United Methodist Church

Please worship with us Sunday morning at the United Methodist Church. This Sunday pastor Pat Sleeth will be preaching and pastor AIissa Bertsch will assist with the service. A multi-age Sunday school class for elementary and middle school students meets at 9 a.m. An adult class based on the book “Unafraid” by Adam Hamilton will meet on Sunday as well.

Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. the chancel choir will share highlights from their Carnegie Hall experience. They will sing one of the Pepper Choplin numbers that they performed and share a video of the entire performance. The chancel choir will host an ice cream social as a part of this event to say thank you to the congregation for the support they received. Everyone is welcome.

Looking ahead, parents and students in grades 6-9 are invited to meet after worship at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 for information about confirmation class.

Four Lakes Community Church

A non-denominational Village Missions Church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to educate and edify the saints and evangelize the lost. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and worship service is at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Our current sermon series is on Genesis by pastor Sean Carney. Fall studies include Sunday evenings’ “The Truth Project” at 6 p.m., every other Tuesday ladies at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday’s worship practice at 6:30 p.m., Thursday’s AWANA at 6:30 p.m. and second Saturday’s nen at 8am. Our worship services combine contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.
