Work has begun on preparing a 3.6-acre site across North Eighth Street from the Cheney pool for the new Parkside Commons, a 96-unit student housing complex. Contractors are getting 16 duplexes at the location ready for removal, along with cutting down trees and preparing the rest of the site for construction.
