Learn how to be proactive and not reactive in your retirement planning. Community members are invited to attend the “Proactive Retirement Planning Education Day” seminar Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Quality Inn in downtown Spokane on Fourth Avenue. The educational seminar, sponsored by the Better Investing Inland Empire Chapter, runs from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
The day’s keynote speaker is Yuerg Eichmann, President of Swiss American Financial. Eichmann is a licensed certified retirement financial advisor and charter member of the Society of Certified Financial Advisors (CRFA). Some of the topics to be covered are avoiding retirement planning pitfalls that can impact your investments, learning about Social Security strategies and understanding common misconceptions about taxes in retirement.
The day includes a tour of the BetterInvesting (BI) website to learn about numerous investing resources, including stock search features and recorded webinars with handouts. BetterInvesting is the brand identity of the National Association of Investors Corporation, a national, nonprofit association founded in 1951.
BetterInvesting is dedicated to providing a sound program of investment education and information to help its members become successful long-term, lifetime investors. The Inland Empire chapter covers Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Northeast Oregon and Western Montana.
Everyone is welcome, from beginning investors to those who have been seriously planning their retirement for years. Cost for the education day is $25, lunch included. The check-in and same-day registration desk opens at 9:30 a.m.
