McMorris Rodgers strong supporter of disabilities laws

Cathy McMorris Rodgers has been a strong advocate for people with disabilities. She is one of the leaders in Congress, and the whole federal government, on bringing awareness to Down Syndrome. She brought to Congress’ attention the fact that less than one-hundredth of 1 percent is devoted to Down Syndrome research, and the fact that nearly every person with Down Syndrome develops Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Cathy called on Congress to put more into researching Down Syndrome, so that people with that extra 21st chromosome can live a full and happy life. 

Cathy is a defender of those in society that many people are content to write off and ignore. She voted in favor of the “Right to Try” legislation which the president recently signed into law. This law allows for people who society has given up on to try new medical procedures which may save their lives. 

Cathy believes that every life is important and that just because something is hard doesn’t mean it can’t be good.
