West Plains Angels event raises $1,120 for locals

Letter to the Editor

Our “Christmas in July” fundraising event at the Medical Lake Pizza Factory was a great success. Angels, a Roman Centurion (to deal with any bullies) and Rudolph were all in attendance.

The former mayor of Cheney, Allan Gainer, was our auctioneer. There were many wonderful angel gift surprises for moms, dads, boys, and girls.

Many thanks to the Medical Lake Thrift Store, Food Bank, School District office, Church of Redemption, Girl Scout Troop and to all the others in Medical Lake who were of great help and support. Ross Niblock and his band of angels were the best.

We give an angel wing salute to the neighbors of Medical Lake (Cheney and Airway Heights) for their kindness and abundant generosity in helping to make this event fun and exciting for all. Bene’s of Cheney, Copy Junction of Cheney and Airway Heights, Dairy Queen of Airway Heights, Yoke’s of Cheney and Airway Heights, Napa of Cheney, Zips of Cheney and Airway Heights, Cheney Community Church, and the Village Centre Cinema of Airway Heights helped and supported us generously.

A special thanks of gratitude to Jason and Kristen Rodney, owners of the Medical Lake Pizza Factory for hosting the annual West Plains Angels Christmas in July event. Our event raised $1,120 which has been divided equally and given with joy to the Medical Lake Food Bank and the Medical Lake High School Associated Student Body.

From all of us at the West Plains Angels, thanks for a rip-roaring ho-ho-ho Christmas in July.

Merry Christmas.

Tony and Amy Blount

Founders of the West Plains Angels
