Groundbreaking moments

The Cheney School District kicked off its final and largest project stemming from the 2017 bond last Wednesday - the expansion and renovation of Cheney High School. Several area dignitaries and officials got a chance to turn a shovel of earth brought in especially for the occasion at the future location of the project's 500-seat performing arts center.

School district officials picture at top from left to right are Finance Director Jamie Weingart, Associate Superintendent Sean Dotson, high school principal Troy Heuett, Superintendent Rob Roettger, school board directors Stacy Nicol, Marcie Estrellado and Suzanne Dolle, board president Henry Browne and director Mitch Swenson.
