M.Ed. - Educational Leadership, Principal Certification
Principal Certification Program
Each M.Ed. and certificate program is taught completely online, via accelerated six-week courses, affordably priced at $12,900 and can be completed in as few as 12 months.
“These accelerated courses offer exciting opportunities for Eastern and our students,” EWU President Mary Cullinan said in a May 15 news release. “These degrees also allow the university to expand access to our high quality M.Ed. programs.”
These online graduate degree programs are designed specifically to accommodate the lifestyle demands of working professionals. The master of education – Curriculum and Instruction Program is meant to increase professional knowledge in designing curriculum and implementing research-based instructional strategies. The master of education – Literacy Program is designed to provide the skills necessary to become a reading specialist.
The Early Childhood Education master's is for educators who desire to have a greater impact during the formative years of children’s lives. The master of education – Adult Education will equip educators with the tools to effectively teach adults, while the Educational Leadership will develop administrative understanding of the education system with an additional pathway for those seeking principal certification. The Principal Certificate program provides a pathway for certification for teachers who already have a master’s degree.
There are no general requirements, essay or letters of recommendation requirements for admission into the programs. A teaching certificate is required only for the three Educational Leadership programs. The M.Ed. in Early Childhood program has an option for teachers with or without a teaching certificate.
These programs are taught by the same experienced faculty who teach on campus. Whether educators want to lead in the classroom, serve as an administrator, or work in corporate settings, these accelerated master of education programs will provide the knowledge and skills needed to help all students learn, and the personal traits to stand out as a leader in education.
Some of the other advantages of EWU online programs are 100 percent online coursework, 3.0 GPA minimum, completion in as few as 12 months, seven start dates per year along with supportive and experienced faculty.
