An up and down offense and defense made for an up and down week for the Medical Lake softball team.
When errors crept into the line score, so did the losses, 7-1 to Chewelah on April 17 and 10-2 to Colville. But when the defense did its job — and the offense, too — the Cardinals prevailed over Riverside 16-1.
In the two losses, Medical Lake (3-5 NEA, 4-7 overall) committed five errors in each contest.
