In between the rain showers, the Cheney High School girls tennis team was able to compete in three matches this past week. The Blackhawks went 0-3 after visiting Deer Park and Clarkston and hosting Pullman.
The first match was on April 9 at Deer Park, where Cheney lost 3-2. Two doubles teams collected wins for the Blackhawks. The No. 1 team of Jazi Daily and Divinity Lomazzi won 6-3 in both sets. The No. 3 dou of including Brayden York-Akiu and Alysin Simons claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
In singles, No. 1 Nika Kauwe lost 7-6, 6-1 while No. 2 Sarianne Winters fell 6-3, 6-2. The other doubles team...
