Cardinals claim pair of wins

It was a week of shutouts in soccer for Medical Lake and the Cardinals emerged with two wins and a loss.

Medical Lake started the week in their return from spring break with wins of 3-0 over Colville on April 10 and 4-0 against Deer Park on April 12. The week closed April 14 with a 5-0 loss to Lakeside.

In a game that began with a Colville own goal, Nick Rosenbeck finished things with a pair of scores and Taye Jones earned the win making eight saves.

At Deer Park two days later, Rosenbeck and Carter Pivonka both had a pair of goals and Jones nine saves and earned his third shutout on the season.

League-leading Lakeside (8-0 NEA, 10-1 overall) got a pair of goals from Jeff Friedman as Medical Lake lost the road contest in Suncrest.

Medical Lake (5-2, 5-4) was at Newport (3-5, 4-5) April 17 and is host to Northwest Christian (1-5) today, April 19 at 4 p.m.
