Cheney High School senior Rachel Suominen added to her growing list of accomplishments by being named a Spokane Scholar on April 16.
Cheney High School senior Rachel Suominen was one of 24 area students to receive awards at the 26th annual Spokane Scholars Foundation banquet Monday, April 16, at the Spokane Convention Center.
According to an April 17 news release, a total of $60,000 was awarded to the 24 of 148 Spokane Scholars, with four students in each of the six content areas of English, Fine Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and World Languages receiving awards.
