Eastern track wins
at Whitworth
The Eastern Washington University track and field team started the season at the Buc Scoring Meet in Spokane, March 17.
In team scoring, both the men and women swept over Gonzaga, Lewis-Clark State, Spokane CC, Washington State and Whitworth.
Medical Lake’s Lexi Rolan took home two titles, the first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.22 seconds. She also won the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 6.5 inches.
Kari Hamilton won the 5,000 meters in 17 minutes, 9.21 seconds. Kaitlin Gibb won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.83. The 4x100 relay team of Rolan, Sophie Bowles, Bella Millsap and Rebecca Tarbert, finished first with a 48.27 time.
Tierra White took first in the high jump with a mark of 5-2.50. Sam Lester rounded off the top finishers in the hammer throw with a mark of 171-7.
Two Eagle men earned a pair of first-place titles. The first one was Keshun McGee, in the triple jump (48 feet, 7.5 inches) and the long jump (23-0). Scott Miller was the other, taking first in the shot put (53-3.5) and the discus (161-3).
Joe Gauthier took first in the 100 meters in 10.80 seconds while Chez Jackson won the 200 in 22.47.
In the 800, Logan Stahl finished first with a time of 1 minute, 53.25 seconds. Parker Bowden took the top spot in the 100 hurdles in 14.74.
The 4x100 relay team of Gauthier, Jonah Mathews, Dawson Lack (Medical Lake) and Jeremy VanAssche, took first with a time of 41.05 seconds.
Big Sky Indoor Champion junior Larry Still finished first in the pole vault with 16 foot, 7.50 inch effort. Tim Beard won the hammer with a mark of 18

EWU football camp features Zornes
With a featured visit from keynote speaker Dick Zornes, the Eastern Washington University Football Coaches Clinic will take place on Friday, April 20 through Saturday, April 21 on the EWU campus.
The clinic begins with EWU’s spring football practice from 3 to 4:15 p.m. on April 20 at Roos Field, with check-in/registration for the clinic beginning at 4 p.m. at the PE Classroom Building. Zornes will speak at 5 p.m., followed by offensive and defensive breakout sessions from 6-9 p.m. There will be seven sessions during each hour-long time slot, with a total of 21 clinicians involved that evening.
On Saturday, two more sessions take place, including a short recruiting philosophy discussion at 8:45 a.m. and a special teams coaching session at 9 a.m. The clinic wraps-up with EWU’s practice and scrimmage starting at 11 a.m. at Roos Field.
