The Cheney Middle School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter competed at the 2018 Winter Business Leadership Conference in Spokane Valley this past February. Cheney Middle School sent 19 competitors to the conference representing one of the only two middle school chapters in the region.
Of the 19 students who competed, 18 placed in the top six in their events, advancing to the state competition in April. Highlights of the conference include Mia Baldwin and Toivo Tomlinson-Ryan placing first in career exploration and business and financial math respectively.
CMS students placed in 11 different events, many of which were highly competitive against students ranging from 7th grade to 12th grade. Placing at the conference and moving on to state competition are Connor Barsness, Aaron Brown, Reina Gerber, Connor Johnson, Anna Kropidlowski, Ashely Larkin, Angela Lopez, Marie Lopez, Camber Moad, Nicole Murray, Rebecca Purviance, Jonathan Ramsey, Aubrey Reynolds, Audrey Schlotter and Cameron Teresi.
The FBLA State Leadership conference will be held in Bellevue on April 4 – 7 and all of our qualifiers will be competing.
