Hodgins, Morrow, collect All-Big Sky honors

Eastern Washington University women's basketball players Delaney Hodgins and Violet Kapri Morrow have been named to the 2018 All-Big Sky Conference first and third teams, respectively, the conference announced March 4.

This is the second straight year Hodgins has been selected to the first-team after being named to the second-team in 2016. It is the first All-Conference honor for Morrow.

Hodgins began the season with earning preseason Big Sky Conference MVP and capped it off with a Big Sky and Eastern Washington single-game program record with 46 points in the season finale at Northern Arizona.

The Pasco, Wash., native scored in double figures in 28 out of 30 games this season, including a current streak of 27 straight.

Hodgins broke the all-time scoring record of 1,865 points on Feb. 1 at home against Sacramento State. The record was formerly held by her older sister and former teammate Hayley Hodgins.

She didn't stop there, as she eclipsed the 2,000-point mark on Feb. 22, becoming the first Eastern Washington basketball player, male or female, to do so. Going into Big Sky tournament play, the senior now has 2,105 career points to rank third on the Big Sky's all-time scoring list, just 67 away from second and 191 away from the record.

A junior, Morrow started all 28 games and averaged 14.7 points per contest. Morrow stepped up and was an offensive weapon for the Eagles, scoring in double figures in 18 games, including a stretch of 11 in a row.

During conference play, Morrow averaged 17.1 points per game and scored in double digits in 15 out of 18 games. The Tacoma native also had 20 or more points in eight games. Her career high of 28 points came at North Dakota where she was 9 for 18 from the field and made three 3-point field goals.
