A kind word might be the first thing said when encountering a disturbed person

Letter to the Editor

We often hear, “If you see something, say something.” I agree, but who should I say something to and what should I say?

If I see a disturbed person, I think that my first impulse should be to speak to that person to let them know I see them as a valuable soul. Of course that could be dangerous for me, but how wonderful it would be to awaken that truth in someone who has forgotten it or never knew it.
