Emmanuel Lutheran to celebrate ‘Fat Tuesday’

The public is invited to come to Cheney’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church and help celebrate “Fat Tuesday” at the ninth annual “Festival of Chocolate,” Feb. 13. There will be activities for children, door prizes and all the chocolate treats you can eat from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the church, 639 Elm St.

Donations benefit Vacation Bible School. The event is a Thrivent Team project. For more information, call 389-3776.

Feed Medical Lake chasing away the chill

Feed Medical Lake and sunshine are chasing winter’s chill with chicken potpie and bread pudding on Monday, Feb 12. Groceries will be distributed beginning at 4:15 p.m. while the kitchen opens for supper at 5 p.m.

Lunch on Feb. 26 features minestrone soup, bratwurst and cookies. Vegetarian fare is also provided. For more information call Joanna Williams at (509) 714-1150.

ML Seniors Valentine’s Day Dinner is Feb. 10

The Medical Lake Kiwanis Club will present its annual Senior Citizen Valentine’s Day Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 10 at noon at St. Anne’s Parish Hall.

Featuring a traditional turkey dinner, the event is free of charge to all Medical Lake-area senior citizens and will also include prizes, entertainment and the selection of the Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year.

Swing dancing at Cheney City Hall on Feb. 9

Treat your Valentine with dancing.

West Plains Arts Academy in partnership with Cheney Parks and Recreation will be hosting a swing dancing class followed by an hour of dancing on Feb. 9 from 7–9 p.m. at Cheney City Hall. Admission is free, but bring an appetizer to share.
