Finally flying at home

After nearly 40 days on the road since their last home game, Eastern Washington's Jacob Davison got to enjoy playing at Reese Court, seen here driving to the basket in the Eagles' 86-58 win over the Matadors. Five Eastern players scored in double figures. Bogdan Bliznyuk, the only player in school history to have recorded a triple-double, came three assists shy of matching that to finish with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Jesse Hunt sank 6 of 8 shots to finish with a career-high 14 points. Ty Gibson had 12 points while Benas Griciunas and Richard Polanco both finished with 10 points. After a Dec. 20 game at home against the University of Providence out of Great Falls, Mont. that closed out nonleague play, Eastern is on the road at Northern Colorado (Dec. 29) and North Dakota (Dec. 31) to open Big Sky Conference play. Portland State visits Cheney Jan. 4.
