Both West Plains, Cheney business groups are important

Letter to the Editor

I am a member of both the Cheney Merchant Association and the West Plains Chamber of Commerce. All the businesses I have worked for are members of both.

The West Plains Chamber is very important if you care about how the Legislature affects your business, school district, city (no matter which you live in) and county. The Chamber has been located in Airway Heights before and it was just as relevant to the Cheney businesses as it was when the office was in Cheney.

The Cheney Merchants Association is important for the Cheney related issues. For example, what is Eastern Washington University doing these days and how can my business benefit from and support those activities? What is going on at the Cheney School District and how can our businesses help them with their programs? There is an excellent and well-done calendar of events found at their website calendar=cheneymerchants.org. In addition, if you are a member you get a weekly email to remind you what is going on in case you are too wrapped up in running your business.

I would like to encourage all businesses to be involved in both the West Plains Chamber and the Cheney Merchants Association.
