Dave Millet, director of the Eastern Washington University Veterans Resource Center, will be the featured speaker at the fourth in a series of Peace in the Cheney Community events. Cheney Congregational Church will host the event following their 10 a.m. church service and coffee hour on Sunday, Dec. 10.
The general theme of Millet’s discussion will be welcoming our veterans home. He will discuss ways to lessen the civilian-military gap and help those who have not served better understand the military culture, which can help create a more receptive environment for assisting our veterans. Millet will also provide some local and regional veteran resources which can be beneficial in supporting veterans and their families.
The community is invited and encouraged to attend this event at 11:30 a.m. Sunday Dec. 10. Cheney Congregational Church is located at 423 N. Sixth St., corner of Oakland and North Sixth streets. Come early for refreshments between 11–11:30.
