Cheney Community Church
It’s that time of year again. Cheney Community Church is serving as a drop-off center for Operation Christmas Child (OCC) Christmas Boxes. OCC is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse where shoeboxes are filled with toys and other items and then sent to children around the world. The OCC national collection week is Nov. 13 – 20, which means that the collection has been going on all this week. However, it is not too late to bring your boxes.
Shoeboxes can be brought to the church any time this week during these hours of operation: Monday – Wednesday, 9 a.m. – noon, Thursday, 4 – 6 p.m., Friday, 4 – 7 p.m., Saturday, noon – 3 p.m., Sunday, 1 – 6 p.m., Monday (Nov. 20) 9 – 11 a.m. Put a smile on a child’s face. Fill a shoebox.
Empty shoeboxes are still available. Call the church at 235-4841 to make arrangements for pick-up. For more information go to http://www.samaritanspurse.org/occ.

For your contemplation: “Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you yourself shall be a miracle. Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come to you by the grace of God.” – Phillip Brooks.
United Methodist Church

Immediately following worship there is an all church potluck Thanksgiving meal. You won’t want to miss this time of fellowship and wonderful food.
