Cheney, Airway Heights election results

Outside of Medical Lake, only two other contested races were decided on Tuesday night in the West Plains.

In Cheney, former city administrator Paul Schmidt had a healthy lead on Tim Gainer for City Council Position 1 with almost 58 percent of the vote. In Airway Heights, James (Sonny) Weathers was easily defeating Jared Lacambra for the Position 4 council seat with over 58 percent of the ballots.

Running unopposed for council, and thus reelected, are John Taves and Teresa Overhauser. In Airway Heights, unopposed candidates are Doyle Inman, Steve Lawrence and Kevin Richey in Position 1, which also serves as mayor.

In Cheney, former Position 1 Councilman Chris Grover was running unopposed for mayor.

Finally, Cheney School Board Directors Suzanne Dolle and Marcie Estrellado were also running unopposed and winning reelection.
