Cards' cross country measures up

Smokey skies took away a critical warm-up race for Medical Lake’s cross country team when the Highlander Invitational at Shadle Park was cancelled on Sept. 9.

But things are more clear for the Cards, and their head coach Gene Blankenship following impressive efforts at the Seaport Invitational last Saturday in Clarkston, Wash.

Medical Lake’s boys finished second to Lewiston 59-81 and just ahead of Pullman on the three-mile course. The girls, meanwhile, were third with 97 points behind Deer Park (45) and Pullman (65).
