Cheney tunes up for Sept. 1 season opener at Sunnyside

People who showed up to Tom Oswald Field at Cheney High School last Friday (Aug. 25) were able to enjoy the first annual Black and Red scrimmage held by the CHS football teams. It was a good way to kick off the beginning of football season, which officially starts tomorrow, Sept. 1, at Sunnyside for the Blackhawks.
Before the game, there was a tailgate sponsored by the Cheney Senior All-Nighter group that offered $1 hot dogs, chips and drinks to spectators. There was also entertainment for the little ones with a bouncy castle and a punt, pass, kick competition.
