Blazes damage ML restrooms

Two outside bathrooms in Medical Lake have been the recent targets of an apparent arsonist, the city’s assistant fire chief Corey Stevens, said.

The most recent came from a report on Aug. 16 for a fire at Coney Island Park. “Somebody deliberately lit the toilet paper dispenser on fire,” Stevens said.

Since it was a brick building there was only minor smoke damage with the dispenser needing to be replaced.

A couple of weeks earlier a small blaze was discovered to have taken place in the bathroom at Holliday Field on the campus of Medical Lake High School. Again, it was a fire in a toilet paper...
