Deputies assist with truck rescue

Spokane County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted a man whose truck and trailer were submerged in Silver Lake, just east of the city of Medical Lake, on June 30.

According to a news release, after he heard his boat motor scraping against the ground, the man parked his truck on the ramp. While he was in the boat, the truck popped out of park, and began rolling backward into the water with the boat and trailer still attached.

Deputies Travis Pendell and Fred Morford arrived at the scene and requested additional resources to remove the boat and trailer from under the dock. Deputy Brad Humphrey, a diver for the SCSO emergency operations team, went under the dock and unbolted the bunks freeing the trailer which allowed the trio of vehicles to be towed from the water. No injuries were reported.
