Benefit to help injured Cheney High School teacher

A luncheon and auction to benefit Brad Rasmussen and his family is planned for Saturday, July 22, from noon – 3 p.m. at Spokane County Fire District 3 headquarters, 10 S. Presley Drive, in Cheney. For $5 a plate, lunch includes a baked potato/taco bar, with an auction and bake sale also taking place.

All proceeds go directly to helping Rasmussen and his family. The Cheney High School graduate, teacher and wrestling head coach was injured in a bicycle/vehicle accident while training for the Iron Man competition.

Feed Medical Lake hosts Christmas in July dinner

Christmas in July takes place Monday, July 10, at Feed Medical Lake, 223 S. Hallett St. Roast turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, yams, green bean casserole and pie will be served, with door prizes in Christmas wrap and games for the kiddos.

Groceries are distributed at 4:15 p.m., with the meal at 5 p.m. Then on July 24, grilled cheese/ham and cheese sandwiches with fresh garden tomato soup and split pea with ham soup will be served for lunch.
