Learning to ride a bus through stories

Spokane County Library District in partnership with Spokane Transit Authority is holding a “Touch-a-Bus Storytime” at selected branches this summer. A continuation of the Library District’s Touch-a-Truck Storytimes where kids could explore fire trucks and recycling trucks, this event allows young readers and parents to explore a bus at storytime.

An STA bus driver will read Mo Willems’s humorous “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” and other entertaining stories followed by some finger-plays and movement activities. Kids then head outside to touch and climb into a Spokane Transit Authority bus. This engaging family storytime is for all ages.

“Touch-a-Bus Storytime” will take place from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at county library district branches in Airway Heights on June 29, Cheney on July 13 and Medical Lake on Aug. 16.
