Koohns, Baycroft tie for third in GNL golf

The Cheney High boys and girls golf teams finished their regular season at the final Great Northern League tournament, May 4.

The boys finished second in team scores with 456 while the girls were fourth with 110. Team scores in the girls’ tournament were calculated via the modified Stableford Scoring system where the highest total of strokes wins instead of the lowest.

Tyler Koohns and Thomas Baycroft tied for third with 81 — a season best for Baycroft.

On the girls’ side, Kelsey Smith finished fifth overall with 38.

Both teams will compete in the first round of the District 7 tournament today...
