LaMonte E. Williams

LaMonte E. Williams, born July 4, 1944 to William Henry and Maize Lenore Williams, passed away May 3, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Wash. 

LaMonte grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho on a country farm. He joined the U.S. Marines in 1962, served four years and six months, and was a Vietnam veteran.

LaMonte worked construction and helped build Dworshak and Lower Granite dams. He also worked for Whitman County for 30 years and retired from Whitman County. LaMonte enjoyed hunting, fishing and hobby farming.

He was preceded in death by his father William Henry Williams, mother Maize Lenore Williams and brothers Glendon, Vinal Henry, Owen Gene and Victor K. Williams. He is survived by his wife Betty, sisters; Opal O'Brian Light of McMinnville, Ore. and LeAnna Williams of Bellingham, Wash. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 

A service was held on May 10 with burial at the Washington State Veteran's Cemetery in Medical Lake.
