Joyce Maike Callaway

Joyce Marie Gross Maike Callaway was born in Saginaw, Michigan on Dec. 22, 1932. She passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 84. She leaves behind her children Shirley Maike, Elizabeth Islip and Charles Maike, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her favorite activities were community service at the Medical Lake Food Bank and Outreach and the Medical Lake Historical Society, including the Founders' Day historical tours. She was an active member of the Friends of the Library-Medical Lake Branch and also spent 47 years in selfless dedication at St. Anne Catholic Church.

She loved playing board games with her favorites including Trivia Night, Scrabble and Uno with great-grandchildren. She loved going on road trips all over Washington state with a car full of happy friends.

Her joy, selfless nature and compassion will be missed by everyone she touched.

Her funeral mass and lunch will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church, 708 E. Lake St., Medical Lake, on Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Medical Lake Outreach or Medical Lake Food Bank.
