During its April 25 meeting, the Medical Lake School board approved a proposal to adopt the Wilson Language Training’s “Fundations” instructional materials as a supplement for the K-2 literacy curriculum.
Kim Headrick, director of teaching and learning, explained that Wilson Languages’ material addresses foundational skills such as phonic awareness, comprehension, vocabulary, word recognition and fluency. It also correlates with other English Language Arts Common Core standards, particularly with vocabulary, comprehension and writing goals in an integrated approach.
