Tractor Supply, the owner of the Cheney store, as well as another six additional Northwest outlets for Del's Feed and Farm Supply, has announced it is closing those locations beginning in May.
Among the stores also slated to close over the coming months are those in Coeur d'Alene as well as locations in the Puget Sound, the Boise area and the Bitterroot Valley at Lolo, Mont.
"Our decision to close these locations was based on many business factors, and we came to this decision after much analysis," John Logan, regional vice president at Tractor Supply Company said in a news release. "Del's has been a part of the Cheney community for many years, and we are thankful to our customers for their loyalty and business."
Cheney employees were offered a relocation package to transfer to other Tractor Supply Company locations, Breck Rochow, a company public relations spokesperson wrote in an email. The company did not disclose how many jobs are affected by the move.
Customers will be able to shop a store closing sale beginning April 4 that will include a 15 percent discount off all pet food, livestock feed, bird seed and footwear, as well as 25 percent off all other items.
"On behalf of the entire Del's team, we are extremely grateful to our Cheney customers for their many years of patronage," Jeremy Miller, district manager of the Cheney store said.
The company will honor all warranties at Tractor Supply locations.
