Our beloved mother, Miriam (Micki) Ann Hopping Werner passed away unexpectedly at the age of 83 on Feb. 28, 2017. Micki died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Lebanon, Ind.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Micki's life on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Lebanon Bible Baptist Church in Lebanon, Ind.

Micki was an exceptional person, always putting others before herself. She loved her family, friends, and Jesus above all. If you knew her, you loved her. She was kind, gracious and loving - a beautiful soul.

Micki was born in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada on Dec. 27, 1933 to the late George Redstone Hopping and LaVelle (Yantis) Hopping. She received her bachelor of arts from Brigaham Young University, where she met her husband Harold (Hal) Werner. Micki and Hal were married for 37 years before divorcing. Micki and her family lived in Coquitlam B.C. Canada, spent six month in Kuwait and enjoyed many years on the homestead in Cheney. Micki later moved to Ohio and Indiana.

Micki taught school in Canada and Kuwait and loved her job at the Eastern Washington University Women's Center. In later years she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, becoming a student of the Bible.

Micki loved spending time with her family and attending her grandkids' events. Her hobbies included politics, Bible study, beautiful music and charitable pursuits.

Micki is survived by her two daughters, Seija (Werner) Brown and husband Bill; Liesl Werner; her two grandchildren, Zach and Kalie Brown; her two sisters, Kay (Hopping) Wilcox and husband Dave; Mary Jo (Hopping) Craig and husband Wes; and all of her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Micki was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Hopping.
