The Cheney High boys basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a pair of Great Northern League losses whose final scores don't necessarily reflect the closeness of each game.
Last Tuesday in Pullman, the Blackhawks trailed the host Greyhounds, ranked fourth in 2A state in the latest Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's RPI, by five at the half and eight heading into the fourth quarter, only to fall 60-40. Saturday, Cheney was within three of top-ranked Clarkston at the half, 28-25, and nine at the end of the third, 45-36.
