Yes vote on bond provides opportunity for students, residents

Letters to the Editor

Dear Cheney School District patrons, what an awesome opportunity you have — you have the power to impact the safety, security and learning space for our area students for years to come.

You hold in your hand a ballot for a bond issue that provides much needed classrooms as well as secure entries at multiple schools. The bond also addresses the continued growth projected for our district by including funds to buy property for future school sites.

Not all area school districts are growing. Cheney is growing and I believe one reason for that growth is the exceptional and well deserved reputation Cheney School District has. That reputation is built not only on curricular and instructional excellence but also on demonstrated fiscal responsibility.

Twice in 2015 the majority of voters favored the bond issue, a majority just short of the 60 percent approval needed to pass. As a parent of three Cheney School District graduates and as a retired district employee, my vote is resoundingly in favor of this bond.

My vote is for safety, security and instructional space. My vote is for kids!

Carol Kriegh

Cheney
