Zak Designs' HydraTrak Straw Tumbler wins award

Zak Designs, headquartered in Airway Heights, announced in a Jan. 20 news release that its patented HydraTrak Straw Tumbler has received a coveted “Good Design” Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

“Around the world, the ‘Good Design’ logo is an instantly recognizable seal of design excellence, and we are incredibly honored to be included among the distinguished companies who have received this coveted award,” Irv Zakheim, chairman and CEO of Zak Designs, said in the release.

“From the time we first developed the concept of the HydraTrak tumbler, we’ve recognized how much potential the product has for helping people lead healthier lives, and it’s extremely rewarding to have an esteemed organization such as Chicago Athenaeum Museum recognize that potential as well,” Zakheim added.

Available in a variety of styles and colors to fit individual tastes and a wide range of activities, Zak’s HydraTrak water bottle was designed as a simple and effective way for people to keep track of their daily water intake.

By simply sliding one of the silicone bands up to the top of the bottle each time it’s refilled, the HydraTrak bottle makes it easy to stay properly hydrated.

And because it can be washed and reused, the HydraTrak is also a much healthier option for the environment than the disposable bottles that end up in oceans and landfills.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, “Good Design” is one of the oldest, most prestigious, and most recognized programs for design excellence around the world. In 2016, the museum received several thousand submissions from 55 countries, and the was one of the select products chosen by a jury of design experts.

By receiving the award, the HydraTrak tumbler will become a part of the museum’s permanent collection.
