Pendleton and Simonsen on dean’s list
Cheney High School alumna Kelly Simonsen and Medical Lake High School alum Jonah Pendleton made the George Fox University’s dean’s list for fall quarter. Simonsen is currently studying history and Pendleton is majoring in cinema and media communication.
Traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the dean’s list.
George Fox University is ranked by Forbes among the top Christian universities in the country and is a Christian college classified by U.S. News and World Report as a first-tier regional university.
More than 3,900 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore.
Betz Elementary concert rescheduled
The Betz Elementary School’s third-grade concert, scheduled for Jan. 19, is rescheduled for Feb. 2 from 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Viking Room.
Cheney wrestling breakfast fundraiser
The Cheney Wrestling Association is having an “All You Can Eat” breakfast fundraiser, March 5 at Eagle’s Pub from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Admission is $12 for 11 and older, $6 for children 6-10 years old and free for 5 and under.
Breakfast includes: pancakes, eggs, sausage links, ham, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. There will be coffee and milk to drink, as well as Bloody Marys and mimosas for guests 21 years and older.
There will be a silent auction and a raffle for two, one-day park hopper tickets to the theme parks at one of the following sites: Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Paris or Disneyland Hong Kong.
